Major reshuffle in top military brass

ISLAMABAD: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Monday a major reshuffle among the high ranks of the military.

According to Army’s media wing, ISPR, Lieutenant General Majid Ehsan, who was serving as the president of National Defence University (NDU) has been appointed Corps Commander Lahore.

While, Lieutenant General Aamer Riaz, has been appointed as the president of NDU who was previously rendering his services as Lahore corps commander.

Earlier in October, Lieutenant General Asim Munir was appointed the new director general of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).

The Pakistan Army in August appointed Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza as the Chief of General Staff replacing Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar who has been appointed as Commander Rawalpindi Corps (10th Corps).

Lieutenant General Muhammad Naeem Ashraf was also appointed Commander Multan Corps, Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz was posted as Commander Karachi Corps (5th Corps), Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza was posted as the inspector general for communications and information technology and Lieutenant General Abdullah Dogar as the chairman of the Heavy Industries Taxila.

It is pertinent to mention here that previously Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz was the inspector general of communications and information technology, whereas Lieutenant General Shahid Baig Mirza was serving as Corps Commander of Karachi.
