ISLAMABAD: Bahria Town on Sunday announced a package of Rs.5 Billion for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and issued the first tranche of Rs. 500 million, ARY News reported.
Talking to media in Islamabad today, Chairman of Bahria Town Malik Riaz Hussain said that Bahria town will provide favourite food, education, health and all other facilities for people, displaced due to Zarb-e-Azb military operation in North Waziristan. He said for this purpose a bank account has been opened with the initial amount of Rs. 500 million.
He said that a request has been made to Pakistan Army to distribute aid to IDPs on the basis of equality.
Malik Riaz said that we are willing to take responsibility of 1 lac IDPs but didn’t get the access to IDPs from government and military institutions.
Bahria Town Chairman said he is ensuring the provision of aid on immediate basis due to Ramadhan and Eid-ul-Fitr. He pledged to provide clothes to refugee on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Making appeal to philanthropists for assistance, he said IDPs showed be look after like our own family adding that anyone wishing to provide aid to the migrated people of North Waziristan can contact chairman of Bahria Town’s relief operation Brigadier Tahir.
