It emerged on Thursday that the man who brawled with Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed in the parliament lodges the same day is a senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N).
The accosting of this man, Malik Noor Awan, caught Sheikh Rasheed off guard as the former appeared in guise of an ordinary man and demanded Rs2.2 million from the latter.
Malik Noor Awan claimed that Sheikh Rasheed bought a car from him and did not pay him the price.
It turned out later that Noor Awan is president of PML-N Japan and has been captured in several pictures with the PML-N leaders at the helm of affairs.
The AML chief proclaimed him another PML-N ‘Gullu Butt’.
Gullu Butt is a PML-N worker who earned wrath of different segments of society when he was captured live by TV channels smashing public property during a clash between PAT activists and Punjab police in Model Town, Lahore, on June 17 2014 that claimed over 20 lives, most of them the PAT members.
Sheikh Rasheed in a statement said the PML-N would be responsible if he was hurt. He said he had received threats on telephone.
Upon directive of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan police has taken Noor Awan under custody.
