Infinite, the sixth main entry in the Marvel vs. Capcom series of crossover games, is now available on PlayStation 4. The fighting game allows players to control characters from both the Marvel Comics and Capcom universes to compete in tag team battles.
Andy Wong, Sr. social media specialist, Capcom made the announcement on the official PlayStation blog saying that they are proud over the release and the next chapter of the action-packed series is finally here.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite has 30 fan-favourite characters, a variety of single-player and multiplayer modes, and gameplay allowing players to flex their ccreativity.
There is also some exclusive content just for PS4 players who will receive the Major Carol Danvers costume to fly into the battle with, just as series newcomer Captain Marvel did in her past.
When accomplished Air Force pilot Carol Danvers was caught in the explosion of an alien device, she was imbued with superhuman powers. As an Avenger, she used her gifts to protect the planet. Now she is a member of the resistance, joining in the fight against Ultron Sigma, the ultimate threat in this newly-formed universe.
Captain Marvel’s move set focuses on her super strength and energy projection powers. Due to her fighting prowess in the air, players would want to pair her with characters that have good ground control or trap options.
There is also a mechanic in the form of the Infinity Stones which temporarily bestow players with unique abilities and stat boosts depending on the type of stone selected.
In addition to the plethora of available teams, players also make your choice of which of the six Infinity Stones they would like to harness in battle: Power, Time, Space, Reality, Mind, or Soul.
Each Stone comes with its own unique powers which can alter the battle entirely. It’s up to players to discover which Stone works best for the team and their specific play style.
The character assists have been removed and instead the game incorporates a tag-based combo system, which allows players to instantly switch between their two characters to form continuous combos.
