Maryam Nawaz denies rifts within PML-N

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz on Saturday denying rift in party ranks, said that the ruling party was united, ARY News reported.

Talking to media men during her visit to NA-120 constituency of Lahore, Maryam denied media reports of 72 party members were likely to part ways with PML-N.

It’s merely a wish of the opponents who are conspiring against the party, she said.

“The opponents will be soon defeated,” she told the journalists while ruling out a possibility of party leaders parting their ways with Sharif-led PML-N in near future.

The politics in country has changed now and people are well-aware, she added.

Appearing optimistic for upcoming general elections in 2018, Maryam said PML-N will once again rule the country as result of the elections.

It merits highlighting here that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan recently said that an early election in the country was possible as a large number of PML-N legislators were willing to resign from the party.
