Caretaker govt reshuffles federal bureaucracy

ISLAMABAD: The caretaker government on Tuesday reshuffled the federal bureaucracy as expected ahead of the upcoming general elections.

According to details, Secretary Interior Arshad Mirza has been appointed as the new Secretary Information, replacing Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, who has been posted as Secretary Education and Professional Training.

Zahid Saeed has been posted as Secretary Health, Arif Nawaz Khan Secretary Anti-Narcotics Force, Maroof Afzal Secretary Industry and Production, and Muhammad Ayub Sheikh has been posted as Secretary Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Dr. Rukhsana Yasmeen has appointed as chairman Federal Bureau of Revenue. She takes over from Tariq Mehmood Pasha who is now Secretary Statistics.

Tahir Raza Naqvi has been appointed as Secretary Parliamentary Affairs, Aurangzeb Haq as Secretary Establishment Division, while Rizwan Memon has been appointed as new Secretary Energy and Power Division.

Yousaf Naseem Khokhar, who was previously Secretary Energy and Power, has been appointed as Interior Secretary.

Furthermore, Director-General Immigration and Passports Ishrat Ali has been transferred and appointed chairman Capital Development Authority.

Director Intelligence Burueau Dr. Sulaiman Khan has also been removed, while the head of National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) is also expected to be removed.

Sanaullah Abbasi will replace Inspector General Police Gilgit-Baltistan Sabir Ahmad.
