LAHORE: The rescheduled Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2017 were held on Sunday at various examination centres across Punjab province amid stringent security measures, ARY News reported.
As many as 65,000 medical aspirants – including 41,000 female and 24,000 male students – took the test from 13 cities of the province at 28 different examination centres.
In Bahawalpur, several students were not permitted to give the test as they did not bring the original B-Form. Many candidates protested outside the Islamia College over the decision. Similar scenes were witnessed in Multan, while the arrangements in Lahore were satisfactory.
Strict measures were taken to ensure free and fair entry test for admissions in medical and dental colleges of the province.
The candidates were prohibited to take along the digital devices into examination centres while the invigilators have been directed to maintain the proper conduct of the examination.
On Oct 6, the Lahore High Court had discarded the results of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2017 held on August 20, after ruling in favour of the petitioners and directing the authorities to re-conduct the admission test.
The court then observed that the entry test paper leak of University of Health Sciences (UHS) had caused immense hardship to hardworking, intelligent and merit-based students.
