CM Mehmood directs to expedite self-employment scheme process for tribal youth

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan on Tuesday directed the concerned authorities to speed up the process of self-employment scheme for tribal youth for which an amount of more than one billion rupees has been allocated, ARY News reported.

Mehmood Khan said the government was committed to bring tribal districts at par with developed districts of the province.

Chairing a meeting of the provincial cabinet in Peshawar, he said rehabilitation and reconstruction of newly tribal districts was among top priorities of the government to remove sense of deprivation of tribesmen.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM said the process of solarization of mosques, schools and other developmental projects in tribal districts should be accelerated.

The meeting decided to acquire land for industrial estate in tribal belt.

It was also decided to overcome shortage of staff, medical equipments and medicines in all government hospitals in the province.

Six new playgrounds will be established besides upgrading of 19 playgrounds across the province.

The meeting was briefed about more than 1,000 different development schemes in the area out of which two hundred and forty-six are near to completion.

The provincial cabinet also approved to give status of tehsil to Martung area of district Shangla.
