Mentally challenged minor girl allegedly raped in Lahore

LAHORE: A mentally challenged minor girl was sexually assaulted by an unidentified man in Basti Chiragh Shah, Lahore, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

According to details, the police have registered a case against an unidentified man for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old mentally challenged girl – identified as Kiran.

In a complaint to the police, the parents claimed that an unidentified man entered the house and lured the victim – who is also mute – to unknown place. The parents claimed that they were not present at the time of the incident.

The parents said they found out about the incident when the girl returned home. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the victim’s home and shifted the girl to nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The police said they have registered a case against the unidentified person while a medical examination will be conducted of the victim.

Earlier in the day, the Punjab police arrested the owner of a local swimming pool for raping and murdering a 10-year-old girl and then staging that the girl drowned in the pool.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar told that the swimming pool owner raped and murdered the girl and then threw her body into the pool. The pool’s owner had claimed that the girl drowned in the pool while swimming, he added.
