Microsoft allows free download of ‘Lost Odyssey’ on Xbox One

Microsoft has announced the classic role-playing game Lost Odyssey can be downloaded for free but only for a limited time.

This company said that it was a gift for their fans in celebration of the Xbox One Backward Compatibility catalog exceeding 300 games. The game can be played on Xbox One through backward compatibility.

Lost Odyssey is a Japanese role-playing video game developed by Mistwalker and Feelplus for Xbox 360 in 2008. It was Microsoft’s longest console game when released spanning four DVDs.

The Mistwalker game studio is also known for many gaming icons including the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi. Among those who have contributed to Lost Odyssey include composer Nobuo Uematsu and author Kiyoshi Shigematsu.

The story follows the journey of Kaim, one of a select group of “immortals” who have lost their memories, as he embarks on an epic adventure of self-discovery, while confronting various threats and the pain brought by his returning memories.

The role-playing game is not available for free for all Xbox fans. However, the free digital copy must be redeemed by Dec 31, 2016.
