Over 80 militants complete de-radicalisation course in Khyber Agency

PESHAWAR: In continuation of rehabilitation of terrorists who surrendered before the security forces, around 81 more militants completed a de-radicalisation course in Bara, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A ceremony was held to honour the passing out. Frontier Corps (FC) K-P says this was the sixth batch of the militants completing the training to become useful citizens of the society.

Five batches comprising 689 people have already passed out after completing the course under the ‘Sabaun’ project and become part of the social mainstream, the statement said.

Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, a military offensive against terroists was launched in February 2017 and hundreds of militants have surrendered after the operation was initiated.

Those passing out have been imparted psychological as well as vocational training to ensure that they are able to earn for their families once they return to the society.

On this occasion, IG FC K-P met the participants of the course and appreciated the standard of training. Those who attended the ceremony included Sector Commander FC Brigadier Arshad Toufeeq, Political Agent Captain (retd) Islam Zaib, Assistant Political Agent Asmatullah Khan Wazir and a large number of locals.
