KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to shed light on a historical significance of April 10 when late Benazir Bhutto had returned to Pakistan from exile in 1986.
“10th April 1986. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto returns to Pakistan challenging the most regressive, tyrannical dictator. Historic reception,” the PPP chairman said.
“The most people ever to gather to receive a political leader. 3 million people filled the streets of Lahore. Truly #Benazir, one without equal.”

On April 10, 1986, slain former prime minister Benazir Bhutto had returned to Pakistan after over two years in exile. She had left the country on January 10, 1984. She was received by hundreds of thousands of her supporters upon arrival in Lahore.
After a daylong stay in Lahore, she had travelled to various towns in Punjab where large crowds welcomed her.
