Misbah asks spinners to do well in Dubai

KARACHI: Cricket teams of Pakistan and Sri Lanka are busy in practice for the second test schedule to start from Wednesday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, ARY News reported.

Captain of national cricket team Misbah-ul-Haq said that role of spinners have to contribute play their part at Dubai’s wicket.

“The wicket of Dubai is bit different from that of Abu Dhabi, I hope that spinners get more help from the pitch for the second Tests”, said Misbah.

Misbah suggested his players to keep pressure on the opponents from the start of the game.

Saeed Ajmal remained wicketless in the second inning although he bowled 49 overs. It was the first time in Ajmal's 31-Test career that the 36-year-old had bowled more than 17 overs in a second innings and finished wicketless.

Wicketkeeper Adnan Akmal had to return home following a fractured finger in the first Test. And Sarfraz Ahmed will likely to keep the wickets in Dubai.

Furthermore, ankle injury has ruled Lahiru Thirimanne out of the remainder of the three-Test series against Pakistan. Thirimanne, who twisted his right ankle, joined seam bowler Nuwan Kulasekara, who suffered an injured hamstring, on the flight back to Sri Lanka. 

Neither Thirimanne nor Kulasekara had played the first Test in Abu Dhabi.

Kusal Perera will replace Thirimanne in the squad. Match of the match for the first test captain Angelo Mathews is committed to take lead in the series.
