MMA candidate survives another attempt on life

BANNU: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) candidate Akram Khan Durrani came under a gun attack in Bannu on Sunday. He, however, escaped unhurt, ARY News reported.

According to police, unidentified assailants fired gunshots  at the vehicle of Durrani in Ghora Waziran area of Bannu. He luckily remained safe.

The assailants managed to escape after the attack.

Durrani was going to attend an election rally in Basia Khel when he came under attack.

This is not the first assassination attempt on the MMA candidate as a bomb hit his convoy on July 13 earlier this month. He escaped unhurt while four people were killed and 14 others injured in attack

Mr Durrani is contesting election on NA-35, Bannu, from the platform of the MMA, a recently revived alliance of the religio-political parties.

He will face off Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, who is up for five NA seats across the country this time, including the one in Bannu.
