Moizullah Baig, winner of WYSC along with his team members arrives home

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Moizullah Baig has reached home after clinching Annual World Youth Scrabble Championship (WYSC), which finished on Saturday at the Etisalat Academy in Dubai, ARY News reported.

Moizullah Baig and his received warm welcome at Karachi Airport on Tuesday.

Total136 player, from 17 different countries and were aged 17 and under, participated in the event. Moizullah Baig secured first position in the tournament by winning 19 games out of 24 followed by Thailand’s contestant at second. Meanwhile, Javeria Mirza complemented Moiz with her second position in the three-day tournament. She won 18 games with a spread of 1725.

Speaking to media at Airport Moizullah said that he attained the lead form the 11th round, “ I find Thailand’s player as the most difficult opponent”, he added.

Javeria said that she feels proud of making country’s name prominent in an international competition.
