MQM needs to retract demands of Sindh division, Martial law: Bilawal

KARACHI: Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has conditioned Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) induction in Sindh government to the withdrawal of their demands for division of Sindh and Martial Law, ARY News has learnt.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has left a message on social media on Thursday that MQM is keen join the Sindh government but they would have to address the PPP’s reservations regarding controversial statements in support of martial law as well as asking for the division of Sindh.

 

The two parties have been engaged in talks for forging a coalition in Sindh but neither of them has said a word as to what prompted them to engage in the process for having a fresh alliance.

However, senior leaders of MQM have corroborated the reports about recent meetings with PPP leadership but have added that these engagements were part of consideration for a future alliance to establish a consistent democratic environment.

Earlier, leader of opposition Syed Khursheed Shah hinted that PPP-MQM coalition seems difficult as PPP is a democratic political party whereas MQM always supported military rule.
