MQM-P Hyderabad office reopened after five years

HYDERABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) zonal office in Hyderabad has been reopened after five and a half years when it was shut down over a hate speech from its founder in August 2016, ARY NEWS reported.

The development came just minutes after Prime Minister Imran Khan visited MQM-P headquarters at Bahadurabad to woo the party for a no-trust move against him.

The zonal incharge of the party confirmed the development as ARY NEWS ran footage of the reopened zonal; office after over a half-decade. “The zonal office was sealed in August 2016,” the incharge said and added, “it was reopened on the directives of the district administration.”

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday arrived at Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Bahadurabad office – a day after the joint opposition submitted a no-trust motion against him with the National Assembly Secretariat.

Upon arrival, the MQM-P leadership and PTI members welcomed the prime minister. Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi and Planning Minister Asad Umar accompanied the premier on this crucial visit.

During the meeting, matters pertaining to the overall political situation and ongoing development projects in Sindh including Karachi were discussed.
