“The incumbent governor is involved in forming new political party,” the MQM complained to the federation, according to sources.
“A senior MQM leader conveyed to the PM that Ebad is secretly playing his part in the formation of a new political party headed by former Karachi mayor, Mustafa Kamal and affiliates,” sources said.
“Doing so, Ishratul Ebad no longer qualifies as a representative of the federation.”
On the other hand, Pakistan Peoples Party has also expressed its reservations over Ebad’s political role and backdoor contacts with Mustafa Kamal.
PML-N Sindh leadership also wishes replacement of the sitting governor and they have reminded the premier that changing political scenario in Sindh requires federation to appoint another a new governor.
Ebad was sworn in as governor of Sindh on December 27, 2002. He remains to be the longest serving governor by holding the office to the date.
