MQM’s Qamar Mansoor remanded into Rangers custody for 90 days

The Rangers personnel had produced Mansoor before the ATC today.

The MQM leader told the court that he had been suffering from spinal cord problem for last 15 years. When asked its reason, he said lifting of heavy weight caused the problem in his back.

He told the court he was undergoing treatment. His counsel contended that 90-day detention was unjustified. The ATC, however, rejected the claim and remanded the MQM leader into Rangers custody.

Mansoor and Rabita Committee in-charge Kaiful Warah were detained by the paramilitary force in a pre-dawn raid on the party’s Nine-Zero headquarters on last Friday.

Warah was later granted a ‘conditional release’ as long as he “reported to the Rangers authorities after the culmination of given period”.

The two were apprehended for “arranging and facilitating” what Director-General Sindh Rangers Major-General Bilal Akbar called “hate speeches against peace of Karachi”.
