The “mad-lover prisoner” identified as Ghulam Mohammad requested the authorities for meeting his girlfriend. He tried to commit suicide by hanging himself from barrack ceiling after the authorities refused to accept his request.
However, the police foiled his suicide attempt.
It should be noted that the prisoner had earlier also climbed on top of a 200 ft high water tank and demanded to meet his girlfriend.
Ghulam Mohammad tried to take his own life in a previous suicide bid by hanging himself from the tank after the authorities rejected his request of allowing him to meet her at the terrace of correction facility.
Jail authorities have stated that the mental condition of the mad-lover prisoner is not normal.
