Illiteracy will have no place in Imran Khan’s Pakistan: Punjab education minister

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas on Thursday said that the country’s future belongs to today’s young students so PTI government is making efforts to make sure they get quality education.

Addressing the Spirit of Math Conference 2018 at a local hotel, Murad Raas said that providing necessary guidance and training to the students on modern lines will help materialize the dream of a prosperous and developed Pakistan so Punjab government is giving special attention to educational research so that students could continuously improve their knowledge and remain aware of new educational challenges around them.

“Only in this way, Pakistani students will have a global vision and a confident personality to act as leaders for national development,” said the minister.

He said that 21st century carries multiple challenges for the students and added that IT is the key to success in this era of constant challenges.

“Students should be fully aware and empowered to deal with new challenges,” said Murad Raas.

He maintained that the dream of a new Pakistan cannot be materialized without hundred percent education as “ignorance is a social menace”.

“Punjab government has given particular attention to the promotion of education in the new budget because we are fully committed that no child will be left without education in the new Pakistan of PM Imran Khan,” said Raas.

He welcomed the holding of spirit of math conference 2018 in Lahore and hoped that this event would benefit the students in a number of ways. Students and educational experts from Canada, USA and Pakistan attended the ceremony.

Talking to the media after the conference, the minister said that school libraries across Punjab will be totally transformed by the schools education department and they will be made user- friendly so that students could take maximum benefit.

Former minister Imran Masood, CEO & Co-founder Ms. Kimberley Lagen and international educational experts also addressed the function.
