Mushaal Mullick asks UN to ensure free trial in Yasin Malik’s case

ISLAMABAD: Mushaal Hussein Mullick, wife of freedom fighter Yasin Malik, has demanded of the United Nations to intervene and provide justice after Indian authorities are set to convict him in a fabricated case on May 25, ARY NEWS reported.

Speaking during a presser along with Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Mullick said that she was speaking as a mother and daughter after the Indian authorities shifted her husband to Tihar prison, where he suffered from a brain haemorrhage due to constant imprisonment.

“Even international basic rights guaranteed for prisoners are not been given to Yasin Malik,” she said and added that he was tortured in Tihar prison, where he developed an injury in his head.

She blamed that Yasin Malik was not given any facilities inside jail and killers outside the court are directing Indian judiciary on decisions regarding Malik.

Mushaal Hussein Mullick also demanded of the Pakistani government to declare the Kashmiri freedom fighter as a prisoner of consciousness and led a global campaign against Malik’s conviction in fabricated cases by the Indian courts.

“We are deprived of our due rights and my daughter has not listened to her father during the last eight years,” she said.

In February 2019, Indian troops launched a major crackdown in occupied Kashmir, and arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik.

The Indian troops raided Malik’s Maisuma residence in Srinagar and lodged him at Kothibagh police station. The crackdown was launched against pro-freedom leaders and activists.
