Musharraf went abroad promising his return, claims Rafique

Talking to media after the upgradation of Karachi Express here, the minister said according to Musharraf he was ill at which the court permitted him to travel out of country for the sake of treatment. He said that today democracy and the judiciary are stronger than the past.

Rafique, however, said that fares will not be slashed despite reduction in diesel price for the Railways is bearing the burden of pensions, salaries and other expenditures.

In response to the voicing of ‘Go Nawaz Go’ slogan by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he said will talk to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman when he grew up, adding ‘we have not forgotten the time of those whom Bilawal follows’.

Saad Rafique went on to say that the Pakistan Railways is introducing e-ticketing in order to prevent black-marketing of tickets.

Acknowledging injustices being done in the past with regard to promotions in Railways, the minister said that in the past whoever pressured the management his demands were met, but we are now preparing to introduce service structure that will ensure that no one is treated unfairly.
