YANGON: A random yet massive object fell from the sky in a Myanmar village, sparking panic among the villagers.

Ko Maung Myo, a resident of the Myanmar village Lone Khin, told the Myanmar Times that the massive cylinder plummeted down at 6am on November 10 – and that he felt the earth vibrate as it hit the ground.

‘Every local thought it was the explosion of heavy artillery,’ he said.

The mysterious object, which is about 12ft-long and 5ft in diameter, struck near an abandoned jade mine between Hmaw His Zar and Nat Ma Pyeit villages in the Hpakant township.

Although the authorities haven’t confirmed what exactly it is, Myo reckons it is an engine from some sort of aircraft.
