LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Yasmin Rashid on Monday accused Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, her opponent in by-election for the seat of NA-120 in Lahore, of pre-poll rigging, ARY News reported.

Yasmeen Rashid said she had prepared an all-out strategy against Shahbaz Sharif.

The Supreme Court on July 28 disqualified the PML-N leader over his failure to disclose his receivables, constituting assets’ in his nomination papers filed ahead of the 2013 general elections.

Hours after the judgement, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) de-notified Nawaz Sharif as member of National Assembly from constituency NA-120, Lahore.

The ruling party named former federal minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as the candidate for interim prime minister of Pakistan.

Abbasi, who served as minister for petroleum and natural resources in Nawaz Sharif’s cabinet, if elected, will serve for 45 days.

The party has plans to get Nawaz’s brother elected from NA-120 so he can be made PM. PTI has announced that Yasmin Rashid will contest the by-polls from the constituency.
