NA-122 Case: Sadiq challenges tribunal's verdict in LHC

Election Tribunal had ordered Election Commission of Pakistan to recount the votes casted in NA-122 Lahore constituency in the general elections of 2013. Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the 2013 elections.

Ayaz Sadiq, in the petition, pleaded LHC to declare the tribunal’s verdict as void by stating that it announced the judgement contrary to the laws.

The Speaker also filed a contempt of court petition against the election tribunal’s judge Kazim Malik by stating that he announced the judgement without listening to the arguments in the case, which is a violation of Supreme Court’s decision.
