NAB board decides to file six references against Ghani Majeed, others: sources

ISLAMABAD: The executive board of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday approved six references including one against CEO Omni Group, Abdul Ghani Majeed, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

According to sources, the NAB executive board presided over by its chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, approved six references to be filed in accountability courts, including the one against Abdul Ghani Majeed, son of Omni Group chairman Anwar Majeed, an aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari.

The board approved another reference in the fake bank accounts case to be filed in an accountability court over regularization of seven acres of land, according to sources.

The NAB board also decided to file a reference against former administrator of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Mohammad Hussain and others, sources said.

The NAB executive board also decided to file an accountability reference against Ghulam Sarwar Sandhu, an officer of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

The board decided to file another corruption reference in court against former secretary Workers Welfare Board Iftikhar Rahim and others, said the sources.

The NAB meeting also approved to file a reference against former secretary Ijaz Ahmed and others in court over granting contracts of water supply schemes to favorite people.
