NAB, FIA raid Civic Center to probe "China cutting"

Officials of NAB and FIA’s Counter-Terrorism Wing raided KMC Land Department situated at the Civic Center.

Officials during the raid seized record pertaining to “China cutting” and illegal transfer of lands.

They also questioned Senior Director Land Nasir Abbas.

The NAB spokesperson told that the team is probing officials and staff of Land Department with regard to China cutting and money made from it.

Sources told the FIA is investigating the matter of amount earned through China cutting on daily basis and an action will be taken upon completion of NAB inquiry.

On the other hand, the Chief Secretary Sindh Siddique Memon today ordered an action against officials involved in corruption.

During the meeting of Anti-Corruption Committee, Memon ordered arrest of former UC mayor Mukhtar Soomro for illegally taking hold of a 5500 yards’ plot.

He also ordered registration of cases against former X.E.N Amir Bhatti and Assistant Commissioner Larkana Nawaz Bhutto.

The committee will again meet on Monday.
