ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday filed a reference against former prime minister Shaukat Aziz for illegal recruitment during his tenure, ARY News reported.
According to a NAB notification, code of conduct for recruitments were violated by Aziz by appointing Consultant Basharat Hussain Bashir.
The notification said despite the consultant’s contract was ended, he was still holding the post.
Basharat was appointed as MP-2 scale employee in Alternative Energy Board.
This should be noted that Shaukat Aziz was considered to be former president general (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s close aide and he took charge of the premiership after Zafarullah Jamali resigned as PM during Musharraf’s tenure.
Shaukat Aziz has also been named in the ‘Paradise Papers’ issued by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) for being linked to offshore companies.
