NAB summons Hamza Shahbaz in assets case on April 10

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Punjab Assembly’s Opposition Leader Hamza Shehbaz, to appear before it on April 10 in assets beyond means case.

According to the details, Hamza Shehbaz was asked to appear before the officials of the anti-graft watchdog at 11:00 pm on Wednesday, in a case pertaining to owing assets beyond his known sources of income.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader had been asked to come up with the details of his bank accounts and foreign currency accounts. It is pertinent to mention here that he was on a 10-day protective bail, granted by the Lahore High court.

Earlier in the day, an accountability court in Lahore on Tuesday had indicted Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz – opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly – in the Ramzan Sugar Mills reference.

Accountability Judge Najamul Hassan had read out charges against them. The father-son duo had denied charges and opted to contest them.

The judge had allowed Shehbaz and Hamza to leave the court after framing charges against them.
