NAB rejects PTI petition against Ishaq Dar

In a brief but clear statement, the NAB has said that it has the authority to close an inquiry against an individual, but does not have authority to reopen a case which has been closed.

It said that action cannot be taken against without evidence and based on mere rumours and complaints. The PTI has been able to prove any allegations against Ishaq Dar.
PTI had filed an application with the accountability watchdog against Dar, and alleged that he was responsible for money laundering worth $1.2 billion and illegal assets beyond his means. The case was filed on 25th July to reopen investigations again him.
