ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Tariq Malik has been relieved from his post by the government without giving any reason, citing sources ARY News reported on Tuesday.
Brig. (retd) Zahid has been named Acting Chairman of NADRA, the news channel reported.
Tariq Malik was scheduled to give briefing to the new Chief Election Commissioner Justice Nasir ul Mulk on the process of recounting of votes today.
It is recalled that the election commission had ordered NADRA for recounting in scores of national and provincial constituencies including NA-256 and NA-258 in Karachi.
