Nawabshah: Two ‘robbers’ shot dead in purported police encounter

NAWABSHAH: Police shot dead two suspected robbers in an alleged encounter in Nawabshah, ARY News reported on Monday.

According to Police, the robbers opened fire at the law enforcement personnel when they were patrolling near Qazi Ahmed town of Nawabshah district.

Two of the suspected robbers identified as Sohrab Phullpoto and Aashiq Phulpoto were gunned down by the policemen in retaliatory fire, officials said. Their four accomplices managed to escape from the scene.

Two pistols were recovered from the slain robbers.

The dead bodies were shifted to Rural Health Centre in Nawabshah for postmortem.

Police said that over 30 criminal cases were filed against Sohrab and a bounty of 0.5 million was announced on his head whereas his accomplice Aashiq was booked in 15 cases.
