Nawaz is gone, now its time for Shahbaz Sharif, says Imran

TAUNSA SHARIF: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said that after Nawaz Sharif, it is now time to oust Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

“Nawaz Sharif is gone, and will not return,” he said while addressing a political gathering in Taunsa Sharif. “And now time for Shahbaz Sharif as the Hudaibiya case is opening”.

He decried that over sixty percent of the development fund of Punjab was being used in Lahore, while a lot less was spent in south Punjab.

The PTI chairman said that they will not let Pakistan become the society it has become, where seventy percent of people live in rural areas. He vowed that PTI will spend on villages and provide employment opportunities.

He promised to set up a university in Tauna Sharif similar to the Namal College, where over ninety percent of the student receives free education.

He lamented that there was corruption worth over a thousand billion, where the looters and plunderers are laundering money abroad, which if instead used in Pakistan would make the nation prosperous.

He said that the PTI if elected to power would tax the elite class, and the Sharif family and Asif Zardari would be held accountable. “Sharif family and Zardari will be thrown in jail. Those who looted the nation’s wealth would be made any example.”

He said that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has taken unprecedented funds foreign loans and indebted the nation, while those who cannot stop the theft of money cannot develop the nation.

He asked the people to promise not to vote for anyone who did not live and die for the sake of the nation. “They rule in Pakistan, and built palaces abroad,” he said.

He called on prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to immediately call for snap elections for the sake of the country. He questioned how the premier can give a protocol to a suspect.

“There is no governance in the country,” he said adding why the information minister was supporting Nawaz Sharif as no nation criticises its own judiciary. “If I was judge they would be imprisoned,” he said.

He said the interior minister Ahsan Iqbal had a work permit for Saudi Arabia, and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif had shares in a UAE-based company.

“In which nation is this mockery made, they come to power for their own interests.” Instead he said that no efforts were being made on formulating a coherent foreign policy.
