Nawaz reaches Sharif Medical City Hospital for checkup

LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif arrived at Sharif Medical City (SMC) hospital on Saturday in connection with his checkup, ARY News reported.

Strict security arrangements have been made at the hospital as no Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) workers will be permitted to enter the premises of the medical facility.

The PML-N supreme leader, who has been given 6-week-long bail to undergo medical treatment, didn’t visit the hospital yesterday and underwent a physical examination at his residence instead.

Dr Adnan Khan, former premier’s personal physician, said many of Sharif’s test reports had been received, adding that the remaining would be received in a day or two after which a team of medical experts would suggest a future course of treatment.

The former premier after obtaining a six-week-long bail from the Supreme Court on medical grounds arrived at Jati Umra in early hours of Wednesday. He decided to undergo treatment at his own SMC Hospital after consultation with his family members and close aides.
