Nawaz arrives at Bannu for IDP camps tour

BANNU: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has arrived at Bannu on Friday where he will visit the camps of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), ARY News reports.

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif received the Prime Minister on the occasion.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervez Khattak, Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed and Abdul Qadir Baloch have accompanied Nawaz Sharif during his visit to the camps.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced due to the military offensive against militants in North Waziristan.

The federal government has arranged food and other facilities for the IDPs. Nawaz Sharif is heading towards Bannu to review the arrangements today.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority and Federally Administered Tribal Areas Disaster Management Authority have completed a report on the distribution of relief goods which will be presented to the Prime Minister.

Strict security measures have been taken for the PM’s visit to IDP camps. Bannu Cantt has been completely sealed and police has been put on high alert. The Commissioner Office and media have been kept uninformed due to security reasons.
