Neelum Jhelum’s power project added 484 megawatts (MW) to national grid

LAHORE: The input of Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project adds up to 484 megawatts (MW) to the national grid, marking it very important for the progress of the country. As observed, the 2 components of the hydropower project (unit 2 & unit 3) are producing power at utmost competence.

Unit 3 was under testing period, and now officially has been acquired by WAPDA. However, unit 2 is under testing period on different load refutation, it is not producing electrical energy at 72 hours test run. Now, unit 4 is being geared up for a one month rest run.

It is also planned that unit 1 will go on test run in the next month, as per the contract rules and regulations. Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project, also known as 969 MW project  is anticipated to produce utmost power by September 2018, this project is value addition for more than 311 million units of power to the national grid.
