Negotiations with Taliban heading towards right direction: Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Sunday issue that was raised due to statement of Federal Ministers about Army would be resolved soon, ARY News reported.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Sunday, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan denied having a deadlock in dialogue with Taliban saying that negotiations with Taliban are progressing smoothly in right direction.

The Minister said the next meeting between the two sides will be scheduled in the next few days.

Talking about release of non-combatant Taliban prisoners, Nisar said the army and the government are on the same page regarding release of non-combatant Taliban prisoners.

“How come is it possible that government alone can release prisoners without the consultation of Army”, Nisar questioned.

He said government is also in talk with Taliban for the release of our people, who are in their custody.

Chaudhry Nisar said the government has demanded for the release of son of former Governor Salman Taseer, Ali Haider Gilani and Prof. Ajmal, who have been kidnapped for ransom.

Interior Minister said sufficient progress has been made in the investigations into recent Islamabad Sabzi Mandi blast. He said according to initial findings, the explosive device was planted in a Guava’s crate.

 “Investigations focused the area from where these fruit boxes were transported and in the coming days some rapid progress will be witnessed in the investigation”, he added.

Chaudry Nisar accepted about problems that were initiated between government and Army due to Minister’s statement against Army. He said these problems have been resolved as current government enjoys best ever relations with Army than ever before.
