ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is likely to increase the electricity tariff by Rs6 per unit on account of two month fuel adjustment (MFA) for K-electric consumers, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
According to details, the federal government has filed a petition with NEPRA seeking a hike in electricity tariff by Rs6 per unit under fuel monthly adjustment.
The power tariff will increase by Rs4.45 per unit on account of monthly fuel adjustment (MFA) and Rs 1.55 on the previous year’s MFA.
The decision to increase the power tariff is to maintain the power tariff and the additional recoveries will be made in June this year.

Earlier, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) had allowed electricity distribution companies to charge their consumers an additional fuel cost of Rs3.39 per unit for four months.
The cost will be charged from March to June, while the consumers were already paying 43 paise per unit surcharge. The new prices will be applicable to consumers across the country including K-Electric.
