Saulat Mirza was to be hanged on March 19 for the murder of KESC MD Shahid Hamid. However, his execution was delayed till April 30th by Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain after a controversial video clip of the death-row inmate was released.

The Machh Jail authorities will write a letter to the Sindh government and seek Mirza’s execution date. Saulat Mirza, a former worker of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) placed blame on MQM chief Altaf Hussain for ordering the hits on Shahid Hamid. He also cited senior MQM leader Babar Ghouri as the one who passed orders to Saulat Mirza for executing the KESC MD. Saualt Mirza also alleged that Sindh Governor Ishrat-ul-Ebad was responsible for protecting criminals belonging to MQM who were imprisoned.
