The five-year agreement of K-Electric with the government ended at the Sunday midnight.

Earlier, Water and Power Secretary Younas Dagha in a press conference on Sunday said that the not yet decided whether to discontinue power supply to Karachi or not.

The People’s Party government in 2009 had allowed K-Electric to continue to get 650MW of power from the national grid.

Power Minister Khawaja Asif in a statement today said that the new electricity deal the K-Electric will be added new conditions.
