‘Prime suspect’ of Imran Farooq murder arrested: Nisar

Two suspects in the case – Mohsin and Kashif – are already under detention of the security forces.

Talking to newsmen outside the Parliament House, Chaudhry Nisar told that the hitmen who were sent to Britain were not  financially sound to afford the expenses of travelling to London and get admission at an institution on their own.

“They were sponsored by another person, who funded them during the expedition,” he added. “They [hitmen] went to UK for the first time, their visa, accommodation and admission fee worth thousands of pounds was paid by the sponsor back home”.

“Our security agencies were busy hunting down the financier for the past one year and the key suspect was lately arrested from Karachi.”

The minister however declined to name the suspect and said that he will be produced before the court tomorrow and everything will be uncovered at that point.

Chaudhry Nisar said that he will also hold a presser to inform media about the ‘key development’ in the case.

He said that the government took Imran Farooq murder case as a ‘test’, adding “We are cooperating with the British government and keeping it informed about the entire situation”.

Nisar further said that the security agencies have also traced out the evidences of bank transactions between the sponsor and the hitmen, and the ones who received the money in England are also known to the law enforcers.
