Nisar directs FIA, ANF, police to complete probe into high-profile cases in month

“Speed up the campaign against the proclaimed offenders and future policy should be put up by the end of this month,” he said while chairing a meeting with the FIA, ANF, police officials in Islamabad. Secretary narcotics, IG Islamabad and director general passport were also present on the occasion.

He directed the authorities to put special focus on arresting the proclaimed offenders who were involved in heinous crimes including murder, kidnapping for ransom, terrorism, drugs and human trafficking and vehicle theft/snatching.

The meeting was told that report against cases of mega corruption, abduction, EOBI, EDP and PSO had been submitted in courts. The interior minister directed FIA to submit interim report in the case to the Supreme Court on Asghar Khan Case.

The minister was briefed that central databank of the proclaimed offenders had been established in coordination with NADRA which would be shared with all law enforcement agencies.

He was informed that FIA in coordination with NAB successfully apprehended two individuals and also recovered an amount of Rs7.5 million from an accused on voluntary basis.

The meeting was also apprised that police, FIA and ANF had, in 100 days, arrested 1800 proclaimed offenders, blocked 769 national identity cards and 826 SIMs and blacklisted 11039 passports and 581 bank accounts.
