LAHORE: Lashing out at Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif for their statements pertaining to “putting own house in order”, former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday said the PM and FM should not make fun of Pakistan with their remarks.

“The prime minister must do in-house cleaning but avoid such statements which strengthens enemy’s narrative. Such remarks will only weaken Pakistan’s stance before the world,” he said.

Abbasi in an interview on Monday said he agreed to the foreign minister’s remarks that “we should first fix the matters at our house”.

We should review Indian media’s reaction on Khawaja Asif’s statement, Nisar said clarifying that, “The in-house cleaning we have done in the last four years is unprecedented.”

He requested the senior Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leaders to refrain from giving (careless) statements on internal matters.

The one of the most senior leaders of the PML-N said Hindu extremist outfits were rigorously executing their nefarious designs and Muslims were being butchered in India in the name of sacrilege of cows. They even beat foreign guests, but did any of their politician or the government made a public statement on those issues?, he asked.

Earlier, Nisar and Shehbaz also met in Punjab House, where they discussed political situation of the country and internal affairs of their party.
