No breakthrough as second round of Govt-PAT dialogue concludes

Talking to media after the talks process which took almost an hour, Abbasi told media that the his party’s foremost demand is the registration of F.I.R of Model Town tragedy and arrests of those nominated in the F.I.R.

Furthermore, PAT leader while maintaining that dialogue process will continue said that as long as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif are in power,there can be no credible investigation of the tragedy that took fourteen lives.

On the other hand, a member of government nominated committee, Ahsan Iqbal told reporters that the committee apprised PAT about government’s reservations and both parties have agreed to take the dialogue process forward.

The government’s delegation comprised of prominent political figures, including Ahsan Iqbal, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Abdul Qadir Baloch. While Raheeq Abbasi, Khurram Nawaz and Sunni Ittehad Council chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza represented PAT.
