No chances of mid-term elections in the state, says Khursheed


ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah has said that there is no chance of a mid-term election in the country, for the state cannot afford such a stunt at this time – ARY News reports.

Talking to media at Sukkur airport, the Opposition Leader said that hustle and bustle in the House is actually the beauty of the Parliament, the Interior Minister talks this way after getting emotional. He added that a fight in not lodged in politics, rather the opinion is discussed.

Khursheed Shah said that none of the political parties desires mid-term elections and he is not sure by which philosophy Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said so.

Commenting on the claims of improving economy of the state, he said that the people can better elaborate on this, adding that it has been difficult for the public to earn their bread, but still somebody calls it a drama or mockery.

Speaking about LB elections in Sindh, Khursheed reaffirmed that the polls will be held on 18th January and the ones objecting the delimitations can consult the courts.

He added that prior to this a 10-party alliance was also formed against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and if it is formed again then it is a part of the democratic process, we are not frightened of it.

The Opposition Leader said that he is happy to be the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and vowed to discharge his responsibilities in a justified manner.

However, he restricted himself from commenting on the National Security Policy for the responsibility of devising this policy rests with the Prime Minister.
