“We were expelled from Azizabad, but we did not go to Defence, Clifton or any other high-class area. We chose a moderate area Pir Ilahi Bukhsh Colony to establish our headquarters,” he said while addressing a press conference in Hyderabad along local bodies representatives.
He said MQM’s manifesto was to believe in integrity and unity of Pakistan. He said operation must be conducted. We support it. However, criminals and terrorists should be taken to a decisive end in the operation and issues of basic necessities should also be addressed along eradicating terrorism.
The MQM leader said economical package should have also come to Karachi from federal capital along operation. Because local government representatives of North Waziristan were given ownership after operation, while it had been over three years of operation in Karachi and it was given only a powerless local bodies system.
He said constitutionally quota system had become null and void in Sindh after 2013, however it was still being practiced unconstitutionally. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should play his role in this regard.
Farooq Sattar’s vehicle encounters accident
Due to overspeeding, vehicle of the MQM leader encountered an accident near Nooriabad area, while on his way back to home from Hyderabad. He sustained shoulder and back injuries.
He has been shifted to AO Clinic hospital in Nazimabad area of Karachi. Condition of Farooq Sattar is out of danger, but three other people accompanying him are seriously injured who are being shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Their vehicle was overturned on Superhighway.
Senior leaders of MQM have confirmed that Farooq Sattar is safe and sound. Senior leaders of MQM, Amir Khan and Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hassan, were also travelling along Sattar in separate vehicles.
He is under treatment at the hospital. X-ray is being taken to further diagnose if he had serious injuries.
