No room for extremism in Pakistan: Shehryar Afridi

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi on Thursday said that there was no room for any form of extremism in Pakistan.

Addressing the ambassadors’ gathering, Shehryar Khan Afridi said that they were not only the envoys of Pakistan but the ambassadors of humanity.

The minister said that those who were spreading sectarianism were enemies of the country and added that terrorism and extremism had no religion. He said that all the institutions, government and the masses were on the same page against terrorists and added that no one could dictate them.

Shehryar Khan Afridi said that the government had taken all the institutions and the opposition onboard on operation against the banned outfits. He said that the National Action Plan (NAP) was a key step for elimination of extremism and terrorism in the country.

The minister said that the government had taken measures to stop cross-border  human and narcotics smuggling.

Shehryar Khan Afridi said that they would not allow banned organization and non-state actors to use their soil for terrorism. He said that they were taking action against terrorism and extremism to save the future of upcoming generations in the country.
