‘No time-frame for dialogue with India’

We raised several issues including Samjhota Express, Indian involvement in Balochistan and Fata, besides Siachin and Sir Creek during a meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar, said Mr. Chaudhary while speaking at a media briefing here.

He informed that a letter from Indian Prime Minister Naredra Modi had been delivered to Mr. Sharif.

Responding a query, the foreign secretary said, “I cannot give a time frame for resumption of dialogue; however both sides are determined to move forward.”

Both the sides agreed to enhance people-to-people contact and resolve contentious issues, informed the foreign secretary.

“Terrorism is a mutual concern for both Pakistan and India. This menace is affecting the entire region.”

He stressed the need of cooperation in addressing terrorism issue from both the sides.

He underlined that the process to meet Kashmiri leaders goes on. Mr. Chaudhary maintained that Pakistan wants friendly ties with its neighboring countries.

Answering a question, peace and tranquility must prevail at Line of Control, added Mr. Chaudhary.

Indian Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar said border tension need to be reduced for better relations between Pakistan and India.
