Who knew Bollywood’s most eligible bachelor, who refuses to get hitched to a woman for life, was a fan of arranged marriage?
In an interview to an Indian website, Salman Khan stated that he was open to arranged marriage and the fact that sometimes they work, instead of love marriages. Bajrangi Bhaijaan expressed his views in response to questions posed to him by the interviewer.
Shahid is having an arranged marriage. What are your views on it?
It’s good. I will say to each his own.
Are you open to an arranged marriage?
“Nobody has sent me a proposal! If somebody does send me one, I will seriously consider it. I am open to arranged marriage. Sometimes, love marriages don’t work and arranged marriages do. And sometimes, it’s the other way around. It depends on the individuals, how they go about their lives, how compatible they are.”
Bollywood’s Dabangg Khan has dated plenty of actresses in the past, the most prominent of them being Ashwariya Rai and Katrina Kaif. Though both ladies broke up with Salman after starring with him in films, the Bollywood actor has refrained from getting married and continues to assume the single status in the Indian film industry.
Other details that Salman also disclosed during the interview related to his co-stars and Dabangg 3. The third installment in the Dabangg franchise would debut on Eid 2017 and would feature the lead actress from the previous parts, Sonakshi Sinha. Salman Khan’s latest film Bajrangi Bhaijaan has been slated for release on 15th July 2015.
Salman’s Sultan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees are set to clash on Eid next year. This is what Salman had to say about the subject-matter:-
“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but both Raees and Sultan are scheduled as Eid releases. It is perhaps the best thing to happen. People will try to accommodate both the films by building more theatres and lots more screens. There will be more excitement for fans. SRK and I will work much harder and pray that both films will be better. I love Shah Rukh a lot and I don’t think he needs to worry at all because the last time our movies came together he had beaten me. So, even if Sultan and Raees are releasing on the same day, loss mera hi hoga.”
